Reflection:
The most valuable thing I learned from this course is to think outside the box and to realize that I have knowledge to offer to the class. I would find myself feeling unsure before each assignment that I would not have anything to offer as I have never taught in a classroom. I quickly learned that I did have ideas that would be beneficial to the classroom community.
Each assignment brought new ideas to the table. I loved the Voice Thread assignment where everyone introduced a learning technology. I have sought out more information for many of the programs that were highlighted. I found the project on Assessing Meaningful Learning (AML) to be an empowering project to support children who are learning about their bodies and was able to adapt it to work with children in the hospital setting. The Virtual Reality collaborative project is something that I later used as research for my Instructional Design course and now as research as many Child Life Specialists have incorporated Virtual Reality into their practice.
